Across Mumbai and Pune, restaurants, cafés, bakeries and hotels are offering experiences that move beyond predictable romance
Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone and that’s exactly what makes this list worth bookmarking. Across Mumbai and Pune, restaurants, cafés, bakeries and hotels are offering experiences that move beyond predictable romance. Think chef-led tasting menus, truffle-heavy dinners, Galentine’s afternoons, guilt-free desserts, relaxed coffee dates, immersive winery stays and intimate celebrations rooted in culture and craft.
Whether you’re planning a quiet dinner for two, a lively evening with friends, or a slow escape designed to pause time altogether, these Valentine’s experiences focus less on spectacle and more on good food, thoughtful settings and moments that feel genuinely worth showing up for.
La Panthera
Couples welcome. Best friends encouraged. Solo dinners respected. A valentine’s table that works for everyone at La Panthera. From 9th to 15th February, La Panthera in BKC presents a four-course Valentine’s menu at ₹2500 per person (all inclusive) curated by the Spanish Chef Manuel Olveira. His cooking is rooted in European comfort – familiar flavours, sharp technique & refined plating. At La Panthera, date night is all about great food, dim lights and an atmosphere that quietly does the heavy lifting. European interiors that feel borrowed from a long, memorable trip – the kind of room that makes even a Monday feel like a moment worth staying out for.
The first course sets the tone with tapas. Choose between a vibrant green bean salad layered with edamame hummus and fresh herbs or a delicate beetroot carpaccio with wasabi on crisp filo. For the non vegetarian options there’s a steak tartare on potato pavé finished with truffle & parmesan or a bright Bloody Mary ceviche – sea bass dressed in lime leche de tigre and topped with a refreshing Bloody Mary granita.
The second course leans indulgent with a creamy molten baked brie with caramelised onions and spicy almond brittle, crisp jackfruit croquettes with black garlic emulsion, moreish butter garlic crab croquettes or smoky charcoal-grilled chicken with toum sauce and warm garlic bread.
Mains keep things comforting yet refined: a creamy morels risotto, hand-rolled spinach tagliolini with pecorino and roasted almonds, seafood gnocchi in buttery bisque or a perfectly grilled tenderloin with chimichurri and jus.
Desserts bring the experience to a memorable finish with a caramel crunch apple crisp (cinnamon baked apples, almond crunch, brittle granola, caramel & butterscotch ice cream) or La Panthera’s iconic Tiramisu.
Drinks follow the same easy confidence. La Panthera’s cocktail programme plays with familiar classics, seasonal ingredients and clean flavours. The wine list leans European at heart, with enough range to move effortlessly from first course to dessert – whether you’re in the mood to explore or just stick with something you know you’ll love. Add a line-up of crisp Prosecco and celebratory bubbles designed to pair easily with the menu and keep the evening effortless.

La Loca Maria
If you’re doing Valentine’s right, a Black Winter Truffle menu at La Loca Maria is a no-brainer.
Valentine’s Day here isn’t dressed up in clichés. It’s handled the way it should be – through food cooked with intent, Spanish melodies setting an easy rhythm and a wine list made for banter and unhurried conversations. The cocktail menu is playful and varied, moving confidently across flavour profiles – from bright and citrus-led to herbaceous to spirit-forward.
This February, Chef Manuel Olveira leans into his strengths with a focused, chef-led Black Winter Truffle Menu that makes choosing where to eat refreshingly easy.
The experience is framed by La Loca Maria’s Toledo-inspired interiors- an ode to Chef Olveira’s hometown, a UNESCO World Heritage city in Spain. Soft neutrals, deep greens, hand-painted murals and a statement Art Deco chandelier create a setting that feels intimate without trying too hard.
Truffles aren’t treated as theatre here. They’re used with intent – earthy, aromatic and woven into dishes that prioritise comfort with refinement.
A finely cut steak tartare comes layered with macadamia and taleggio cheese cream, crisp potato and black winter truffle. White asparagus is paired with Spanish verdina beans, slow-cooked into a stew that quietly reflects the chef Manuel’s Spanish roots.
The mains follow the same logic. Dry-aged duck with miso consommé, duck leg ragù and sushi rice. Grilled Indian salmon with Mediterranean vegetables, mushroom purée and truffle velouté. Handmade garganelli in a creamy pecorino and black pepper sauce enriched by black winter truffle.
Comfort classics include truffled mushroom lasagna and koji-marinated roast chicken breast filled with truffle mousse. Dessert arrives as the Mocha Almond Financier. One spoon turns into many. Save room.
Available throughout February, alongside the regular à la carte menu.
