Paul has temporarily traded in ‘Mescal’ for ‘McCartney‘, looking the spitting image of the iconic singer-songwriter in recently released postcards from Sony Pictures.
The images, unveiled in promotion of Sam Mendes’ hotly anticipated upcoming release The Beatles – A Four-Part Cinematic Event, gave fans a first glimpse at Paul Mescal alongside Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
It’s safe to say that The Beatles have officially landed, with renewed Beatlemania looking set to take hold thanks to the collective star power of the project’s leads.
Each Beatle will be the subject of their own film in the ambitious four-part production, with all four features slated for release in April 2028.
The pictures of the stars were first released in postcard form at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, the school co-founded by Paul McCartney.
The premises was formerly occupied by the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, where both McCartney and would-be bandmate George Harrison attended in their youth.

The school reportedly hid the numbered postcards throughout the premises, encouraging students to uncover them.
The likeness of the famed ‘Fab Four’ appeared historically accurate, with Paul Mescal’s costuming leaning heavily into McCartney’s look from the band’s early years.

Eagle-eyed fans may recognise Mescal as McCartney performing in what appears to be the iconic Cavern Club – the club which served as The Beatles’ historic birthplace.
Harris Dickinson’s John Lennon was depicted donning the rounded “granny specs” that the late Lennon adopted permanently following his stint in Richard Lester’s 1967 film How I Won the War.
Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr sported a bearded and polka dot shirt reminiscent of the Beatles’ later era, specifically around 1968.
Joseph Quinn’s Harrison, meanwhile, boasted the voluminous locks and beard that the musician adopted around the time of the Get Back/Let It Be sessions in January 1969, and the iconic Abbey Road cover shoot later that same year.

The cast for the long-awaited project was first confirmed early last year, following months of heated speculation and debate.
Mendes brought each actor onto the stage at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, surprising fans with an additional announcement in the process.
“We’re not just making one film about the Beatles – we’re making four,” Mendes told the audience, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply.”
After joining Mendes on stage, Mescal, Dickinson, Quinn and Keoghan delighted fans by reciting the lyrics to the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, before coordinating a synchronised bow in true Fab Four fashion.
The Beatles are widely considered the biggest band in music history, maintaining a still-devoted fanbase over 50 years on from their split.
