The Boston Celtics have won seven of their last ten games, and the recent spate of the team’s recent wins can be chalked up to a full team effort, with the players coming off of the bench a factor in the Celtics’ early season success as much as the veteran starters have been.
And that fact is more than evident to Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla, who opened up on what has been driving the Celtics playing so well to start the 2025-26 NBA regular season ahead of the team’s 120-106 road win over the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center Thursday (Jan. 1) evening. “I think, one, (we) just continue to chip away at playing to the identity that we want to play at on both ends of the floor,” said Mazzulla. “Whether it’s trying to control the shot margin with our offensive rebounding and taking care of the basketball, (or) increasing our shot quality. “

“On the offensive end, defensively, obviously, we’ve got to continue to get better on the rebounding,” added the Celtics coach.

“The turnover margin has been good for us over those last 10 games,” suggested Mazzulla. “We’ve got to continue to do that.”
“But I think, as long as we continue to have an understanding that everybody on the roster has a chance to impact winning, and we know our role, we do our job, we’ve got a chance to win.”
