Canara Bank: Following other major lenders, including State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, etc., after RBI’s repo rate cut by 25 basis points to 5.25 per cent from 5.50 per cent in the latest December meeting, Canara bank has also announced to revise the lending rate and fixed deposit interest rates.

These actions are bittersweet, as decreasing lending rates will benefit borrowers with loans linked to RLLR, while a reduction in FD rates will lower returns for new borrowers.

    Canara Lending Rates

Canara Bank has cut its Repo Linked Benchmark Lending Rate (RLLR) by 25 basis points, lowering it from 8.25% to 8.00%, with effect from December 12, 2025.

Following the reduction, borrowers whose loans are linked to the RLLR may see lower EMIs or a shorter loan tenure, depending on the terms of their loan agreement.
