Guy Fieri has undergone emergency surgery following a freak accident that has left him in a wheelchair.
The celebrity chef, 57, was rushed to hospital after suffering a gruesome quad muscle tear in the process of filming new show Flavor Town Food Fight.
The spikey-haired restaurateur reportedly missed a set of steps on-set, falling into the splits and tearing his quad muscle in half.
“I slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,” the Food Network fixture told Fox News Digital.
“The doctor said he’s never seen, you know, in 20 years he hasn’t seen a tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad.”
Fieri said he needed immediate surgery to prevent the muscle from “receding.”
“You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone,” he explained, “but this was right in the centre of the whole quad muscle and it exploded.”

The accident forced the entire crew for his new series to halt production temporarily.
Fieri revealed there were over 125 people on set at the time – including chefs, crew members and guests – as he was rushed to surgery.
He said the team had to come up with creative filming solutions to keep the series moving while he recovered.
For now, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star is required to keep weight off his leg for eight weeks before he can begin rehabilitation.

He is reportedly confined to a wheelchair for that time, adding that doctors have advised him to be patient despite wanting to jump back into filming full-speed.
“I haven’t busted anything in years,” he noted, explaining that he broke “everything” as a kid – including his leg, knee, wrist, sternum, ribs and tailbone.
“But I got done doing that s–t, you know, I got done with that type of behaviour long ago.”
Because of his limited mobility, Fieri will now need to rely on his sons Hunter, 29, Ryder, 19, and his nephew Jules to take charge of their family’s Thanksgiving dinner.
Fieri is a well-known and much-loved chef throughout the United States and beyond, with a career spanning over 30 years, and numerous cooking shows.
Some of his most well-known offerings include series’ such as Celebrity Chef, Tournament of Champions and Guy’s Ranch Kitchen.
His newest venture, Flavor Town Food Fight, features four chefs per episode as they go head-to-head in a three-round cooking contest, and will continue production as the celebrity chef recovers.
