Stock Market Live Updates, Indian Share Market News Today: Indian benchmark indices opened higher on Wednesday, tracking firm global cues. The BSE Sensex rose 205 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 84,792, while the Nifty50 advanced 70 points, or 0.27 per cent, to 25,955.
Global sentiment remained positive for the third consecutive session, supported by expectations of a potential US Federal Reserve rate cut in December 2025.
In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index gained 0.25 per cent, while the Nifty SmallCap index added 0.31 per cent.
Sectorally, the Nifty Metal and PSU Bank indices led with gains of 0.6 per cent each. Strength was also visible in the Nifty IT, Financial Services and Private Bank indices.
