From green leafy vegetables to dairy products and a wide variety of berries, here are a handy list of foods parents should add to their kid’s diet to keep blood sugar low.

Green Leafy Vegetables are packed with magnesium and help regulate neurotransmitters responsible for mood and balancing stress hormones.

As parents, it is critical to keep a close check on our children’s health. Among other things, parents should keep track of their blood sugar levels. High blood sugar can cause diabetes, high cholesterol, and potentially heart disease. Fortunately, there are some things parents can do to help keep their children’s blood sugar levels from being too high.

Here are few foods they should include in their child’s meal

    Green Leafy Vegetables

Green leafy veggies are low in both calories and carbs. As a result, they maintain stable blood sugar levels. They are high in fibre. As a result, they contribute to the proper rate of sugar absorption. Spinach, methi, and drumstick leaves can be consumed on a regular basis.

    Berries

Berries such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries make excellent nourishment. They contain antioxidants, which minimise oxidative stress. Berries are also high in vitamins that are considered to help regulate blood sugar levels.

    Citric Fruits

All of these citrus fruits are high in vitamins and minerals, and they do not include carbs. All of these citrus foods also contain vitamin C, which aids with blood sugar regulation.

    Nuts and seeds

Flaxseeds/linseeds, almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, pistachios, cashew nuts, chia seeds, and so on are considered helpful to lower and manage insulin levels.

    Dairy Products

Milk, cheese, and yoghurt are the main sources of calcium for young children. Dairy foods are crucial for children’s health and play a key role in achieving a balanced diet. Nonfat, low-fat, and full-fat dairy products are also  available on the market.
