Olivia Rodrigo sends clear message to Trump’s DHS for using her song

Olivia Rodrigo delivered a loud and clear message to Donald Trump’s administration using her song to promote their agenda..

The Guts hitmaker slammed them for using her song All-American Bitch behind a video shared by the Department of Homeland Security asking undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. to self-deport.

“Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,” the 22-year-old American singer-songwriter and actress replied in the comments section, bluntly stating she does not want to be associated with the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids under the reign, as per a screenshot circulating on social media.

In a joint Instagram post on November 4, DHS and White House showed the images of ICE detaining people of colour.

“LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don’t, you will face the consequences,” reads the post while Rodrigo’s song lyrics played in the background, “All the time, I’m grateful all the time, I’m sexy and I’m kind, I’m pretty when I cry.”

Rodrig, who released All-American Bitch in 2023 as a single in her second studio album Guts, is not the first artist to criticise the Trump administration for using their songs for their political goals.

Previously, Hold My Hand singer Jess Glynne denounced a post made by the White House to promote deportations. They used her viral “Jet2 Holiday” sound in their posts.
