Country singer Alexandra Kay has spoken out about rumours of a romance between Keith Urban and his tour guitar player Maggie Baugh.
Kay, 24, who is friends with Baugh, 25, squashed speculation in a new interview with Taste of Country Nights, revealing that there is “nothing” going on between Baugh and Urban, 57, in the wake of his split from Nicole Kidman.
“Honestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say … They’re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh, and I’m like, ‘She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true,’ ” Kay told the outlet.
“I’ve met her boyfriend, and she’s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole [Nicole and Keith] relationship,” she continued.
Rumours of a romance between Urban and Baugh, a country singer-songwriter who joined Urban’s tour as his guitarist, began when news broke of Urban’s split from his wife of 19 years Nicole Kidman last month.
One day after the split captured headlines, Kidman officially filed for divorce from the Heart Like a Hometown singer.

The papers, which have been obtained by several publications, cite the reason for their split as “irreconcilable differences”.
The rumours of a Baugh, Urban romance kicked up a notch soon after when fans online dug up a video of that Baugh had posted just days prior to the divorce filing.
In the video, Urban can be heard changing the lyrics to his song The Fighter, which was inspired by Kidman.
When playing the song with singer Maggie Baugh on September 25 in Chicago, instead of singing the original lyrics of ”When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter,” Urban sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”
Kay posted the video to her Instagram in the days following, captioning the post: “Did he just say that 👀”.

The comment section was quickly flooded with many speculating that Baugh had played a role in Urban’s marriage breakdown.
Kay has now attempted to squash the rumours. Neither Urban nor Baugh have addressed the rumours.
