Rachel Zegler is set to light up the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom later this month, with the BBC confirming that the West Side Story star will perform ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’ during the programmes results show on October 26th, marking Icons Week.
Zegler’s appearance comes hot on the heels of her acclaimed turn as Eva Perón in the recent London revival of Evita. Her rendition of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice classic has already earned rave reviews on stage, and her upcoming Strictly performance promises to deliver the same emotional power to millions of viewers at home.
She will be joined by two of Strictly’s professional dancers for a special routine choreographed to accompany her performance, adding a fresh ballroom twist to one of musical theatre’s most beloved songs.
