Only about 24 hours after losing to the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers will hit the hardwood again for another preseason game, this time against the Dallas Mavericks.
It is rare and, some would say, perhaps a little unfair to have back-to-back contests during the preseason. Perhaps as a result, the Lakers have decided to rest a few key players for Wednesday’s matchup. They will have one final exhibition game on Friday against the Sacramento Kings.
Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Deandre Ayton, Jake LaRavia and Marcus Smart will not play on Wednesday. As most know by now, LeBron James is dealing with sciatica and will also not participate in Wednesday’s game.
Reaves and Ayton have played very well in the preseason so far. Doncic, meanwhile, made his preseason debut on Tuesday and also looked excellent, as he dropped 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in just 22 minutes.
Los Angeles will start its regular season schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 21, against the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena.
