    LB Dre Greenlaw still sidelined

The Denver Broncos hit the practice field on Wednesday with mixed news on the injury front.

First, the good news: tight end Evan Engram (calf) stretched and did individual drills before working on a side field. That seems like a promising sign that Engram’s calf injury is not as significant as it could have been. Engram was officially listed on the injury report as limited.

The bad news: Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) and tight end/fullback Nate Adkins (ankle) remain sidelined, and defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (knee) was added to the injury report as a DNP.

Denver coach Sean Payton hinted to media members during his Monday conference call that Greenlaw could return soon. Payton said after Wednesday’s practice that he did not have an update on Greenlaw, but he did say, “Progress is going well.” View the team’s complete Wednesday injury report below.

The Broncos are scheduled to practice again on Thursday and Friday before releasing a final injury report with game statuses for Sunday’s clash with the Indianapolis Colts. Denver’s considered a road favorite in Week 2.
