After missing 11 days of training camp practice and one preseason game, Denver Broncos wide receiver A.T. Perry (ankle) was present Tuesday after being activated from the physically unable to perform list. The 25-year-old receiver has been cleared for individual work, coach Sean Payton said after practice. The Broncos will ease him back into action.
Perry (6-5, 205 pounds) joined Denver’s practice squad last October after being cut by the New Orleans Saints. He totaled 12 receptions for 246 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games with the Saints but is yet to appear in a game with the Broncos. Competing in a crowded wide receiver room, Perry will face an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster.
Elsewhere on the injury front, fullback Michael Burton, who did not play against the San Francisco 49ers over the weekend, was also back at practice Tuesday. Additionally, linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) and Alex Singleton (thumb) were back on the field after sitting out Saturday’s game.
Meanwhile, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto did not practice Tuesday after he had a slight limp leaving Saturday’s game against San Francisco. KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis tweeted that Bonitto’s ailment “doesn’t look serious.”
Broncos tight end Nate Adkins (unknown) and cornerback Reese Taylor (hamstring) also did not practice Tuesday. Both players sat out the team’s preseason opener against the 49ers. Linebacker Drew Sanders (foot) also remains sidelined.
Denver will practice again on Wednesday before hosting the Arizona Cardinals for a joint practice on Thursday. Two days later, the Broncos and Cardinals will face off in a preseason game at Empower Field at Mile High on Aug. 16.
