Dean Cain, ex-Superman star joins ICE

    -

Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is taking on a very different role, he’s joining U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The 59-year-old actor revealed on Jesse Watters Primetime that after publicly expressing support for law enforcement, he was contacted by ICE officials and will soon be sworn in as an agent.

“I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer, I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain told Watters on Aug. 6.

“So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”

Cain said he’s stepping up to do his part and hopes others will follow.

“Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country,” he added.

While eager to serve, Cain admitted he doesn’t expect to be on the front lines but said he would be ready “in a heartbeat” if ICE director Todd Lyons needed him there.

Earlier that day, Cain posted a video on Instagram encouraging more Americans to join first responders, stressing the importance of “help[ing] secure the safety of all Americans.”

His announcement comes as the Trump administration ramps up recruitment for ICE amid a broader immigration crackdown.

The Department of Homeland Security recently launched a campaign offering incentives such as up to a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment programs, and forgiveness options to attract new agents.
