Tyler recently marked a milestone in his career, with the 30th movie of his production; he took some moments to thank all those who have stood with him through the decades. The post was filled with gratitude and the director-actor had a lot to say: “I can’t thank you enough and I don’t take this or you for granted. This is movie number 30 and y’all still riding with me! Thankful.” Along with the post was the celebratory image of a thoughtful Perry probably taken during one of his recent projects.

The comment section soon started to fill with love, jokes, and critiques because, well, internet. One hilarious comment cried for Perry’s plays soundtracks to be put on streaming platforms: “Maybe if you are feeling generous, you could bless us with all the play soundtracks on all platforms… maybe a few plays too now that I got adult money to attend.” Another comment read, “Idk bout this one Tyler it’s not giving Madea,” probably missing dear Madea.
And just as every critique was there, there came a thousand on the line to stand tall for him. “Imma tell you the truth me and my family been watching your movies for over 20 years now keep up the great work,” one star said. “We love Madea. We need her for the next 3 years,” another continued, signs that the Perry icon-level character still has an unlimited hold on viewers.
Not everyone, though, had praises for that film. One was like “boring af and a waste of time”; the other gave up after doing a 10-minute count. Then again, you can’t really please everyone, especially on the internet!
The Perry effect goes across the Atlantic, with South African followers clamoring their love. One lady said, “We thank you Mr. P for being the best. I am not a movie person but yours I can’t miss, they speak to me… May you be blessed and protected. You are loved my good Sir..hugs n kisses from Pretoria, South Africa.”
Whether everybody wants to bash or glorify his films, it really is impossible to argue with Tyler Perry’s impact. Thirty movies deep and counting, he still produces stories that either resonate or spark pretty heavy reactions. And from the looks of things, the fans aren’t going anywhere soon.

So maybe here’s to 30 more… or at least some more Madea appearances for the internet to crowd around.
