A somewhat cryptic post from Rita Ora has put everybody in speculation mode about whether an acoustic tour is in the making. In the clip, she was briefly singing stripped-down vocals, talking about missing touring. One may argue that the entire internet is ready to throw its money at Rita for intimate shows.

Rita’s singing was just floating over a watery soundscape, late-night vibes in some tiny little jazz club. The gal declared deportedly that she missed touring; she gave barely–ahem–“could be an acoustic tour?” classic Rita. Keeping us guessing for good since 2012.
The comments section turned into a lobbying area pretty fast. Someone was yelling to no avail, “ACOUSTIC TOUR? YES PLEASE,” while another was fully confident that the future in touring for Rita is “bright.” Someone went as far as to put forth potential venues for the tour, namely the Jazz Café or the Union Chapel, London; clearly indicating that there are already-made Pinterest boards for this fictitious tour.
The really darn good part? The comment stating, “these live vocals have me in a chokehold babe” would have me passing out as well. That voice of Rita’s is one that hits acoustic harder by the dual-edge force of beauty and frailty. That comment about the tour being “emosh” (emotional + slay) was pitch perfect.
On another note, international fans were flexing with plans for their pilgrimage. Love from USA was dropped amidst dire cries for a show in Brighton. Real dedication. And then there’s one fan being honest that anxiety levels will spike if said fan actually meets Rita, but it sure as hell won’t stop this die-hard fan from going. Loyalty that can’t be bought.
New music has been highly and silently hinted at for some time now (RO4, anyone?), and this acoustic teaser is just another breadcrumb. The people are ready to sell a kidney for a ticket, whether it be for a proper tour or a couple of one-offs. Demand is here, vocals are ready-how about Rita coming forth to talk?
Side note: The vibes I’m getting of how fans are already fighting over which intimate venue would be “perfect” are something else all the way. Like, y’all do not even have dates yet, and here we go, Wonderwalling acoustic pomposity at Union Chapel vs. Jazz Cafe. True grit.
One thing for sure, though: if Rita read the entire phonebook over an acoustic guitar, that would be the moment. That voice-wielding power combined with the meager intimacy of a little room? If you’ve never witnessed it, then you just haven’t witnessed it. Even with this, I hope for real dates soon, or the internet will riot.
Then there was this one COMMENT, “we cannot wait for RO4“—mood. Absolute mood. Mixed with the now-actual new-music-and-tour-rumors-feed, Rita keeps us fed. Now, kindly excuse me while I refresh Tag Ticketmaster every ten seconds.
