If you love a good pop-up bar, you don’t want to miss Shipwreck’d in Austin. The pirate-themed pop-up is happening at Downtown Austin bar The Eleanor. You may recall that they also host Miracle of 5th Street every Christmas.
What To Expect at Shipwreck’d Austin Pop-Up
As soon as you walk in, you can tell right away this wasn’t simply pulled together last minute. It’s clear there was real time spent planning this experience. The decor is full of little nautical touches like ropes, lanterns and maps. Nothing feels random or out of place. Even the music fits. You’ll feel just like you’ve stopped into Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp not included. Though the staff does everything they can to fill the role. With outfits that look truly authentic, the details makes the whole experience feel real and complete.

The Cocktails Steal The Show
Everyone is talking about the Skull cocktail. That’s because it’s served in a colorful, well-made skull mug that’s so eye-catching it steals the spotlight. And it’s not just for show. This drink tastes amazing.
Even the beer is themed. It comes in a shiny silver tankard, which feels special and perfectly pirate-themed.
From popcorn snacks to fresh seafood, the food offerings at Shipwreck’d are also on brand. Menu items include Gunpowder Popcorn (tossed in peppercorn, roasted garlic and sumac), Caribbean Shrimpwreck bites and the Gunsmoked Fish Dip with crispy plantain chips.
The real highlight, though, is the Meat Plank, which can also be ordered with cheese. Packed with quality cuts, house-made additions and plenty to share, it’s crafted with care. Nothing feels like filler. The food matches the experience: thoughtful, flavorful and made to linger.
