Having reached a monumental milestone in her career, McRae is absolutely joyous. A “bucket list” gig, as she so rightfully put it, was to do two fully sold-out nights at the fabled O2 Arena in London. That post stirred up the emotions in the hearts of all of her followers, with them flooding the comment section with words of love and pride-unfortunately, there were a few that wished otherwise.

In recent times, McRae has skyrocketed to fame: Some 10 years ago, she was basically a teen posting viral covers on YouTube, whereas she now is signed with the mainstream record industry. Her writing of songs with raw emotion, coupled with her high-quality singing, has cultivated an ardent fan following for her. What this latest accomplishment should mark her is a new entrant big time. The O2 Arena ranks high among top venues of the world; to sell it out at the count of one or even twice is very rare indeed.

This was the maximum amount of euphoria coming from the fraternity’s embrace. One individual opined,”You deserve it all girl… sooo proud of u,” while another solemnly consented, “The most deserving person ever.” Some talked about their own experiences: “I had goosebumps the whole show,” whilst others labeled those experiences as the best night of their lives, digging their hands off requesting tour stops in their respective countries.

But others weren’t all up in admiration either. One cruel commenter, seemingly intent on raining on McRae’s parade, vomited his name-calling: “little unoriginal loser” and went further with bizarre threats: “Come to New York I might just pop you next time around.” The hateful words stood stark against the sea of praise, but her fans duly drowned them out with even more love.

A complete full-circle moment was captured in a warm message that said it all: “Our girl went from her bedroom to the O2 in London.” The whole situation is one of full-circle moments: McRae truly came from posting covers online as a teenager to conquering one of the biggest stages in music.

Shivers from the moment of excitement have not reduced yet. With tour dates to follow and the re-emergence of the fans’ cry for one very soon, McRae seems to be in for no possible pause. Happy ballads or electrifying sets-day or night-shame on her if there is any part that has yet to pay. If anything can be deduced from the reaction to the O2 shows, it should be that the best is yet to come.
