Her very first one was blunt: “Parents: Check out this video on AI and CSAMs.” No sugar-coating there, just a call to action. But soon enough, it was back in the internet mill. Supporters were everywhere, including Aubrey L., who pointed out these young men consuming this crap: “People try to say we don’t have a social crisis right now???” Tough to argue with that one.
Then came the disbelievers. Jeffrey Levy added some Epstein conspiracies in his comments there about Trump hiding the evidence: “Trump was president when Epstein died”—hey, obliquely calling out shady business there. Then BlueDot was a warrior going after Luna on hypocrisy for supporting policies cutting child programs, while allegedly pocketing taxpayer-funded daycare. Oof.
Some responses were non-political and just…weird. Like, there was this one guy who simply said, “Turn the internet off.” Bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see how that one works for all the good homo sapiens. USS-Jaynes then came online with comments that really needed to be said: “Hey parents! Stop posting pictures of your kids online.” Harsh-but…maybe not wrong?
Then Tyler McFarland likened it to every other thing, saying we shouldn’t punish everybody for a few unstated actions. “Just because we have a few bad people doesn’t mean we go after the law-abiding citizens.” Fair argument, but like…not even the same comparison?
And of course, the trolls couldn’t miss out on their share. One went on about how the internet was “fake and ghey,” which sure helped further the conversation. Another accused Luna of being an opportunist who gained notoriety with a MAGA swimsuit pic. Because nothing revives a “serious policy discussion” like that Instagram relic from two years ago.
The takeaway? Luna’s tweet struck home with the real fear of AI involved in disseminating harmful content; however, reactions to it were totally mixed. Some scared, some angry, some just willing to throw shade. Agree or disagree, one thing is for sure: this saga is far from over.
